Julie Fischer was a researcher at OpenDocLab and a graduate student at Comparative Media Studies and Writing program. Her CMSW thesis was titled To Create Live Treatments of Actuality: An Investigation of the Emerging Field of Live Documentary Practice. She is a skilled and adaptable researcher bridging the worlds of UX, digital media and documentary film. Her key strengths are qualitative research, collaborative design methodologies, usability testing, interview-driven research and ethnography. She’s also passionate about design workshop facilitation and teaching UX research skills. Julie’s major media credits include researcher for films The Unknown Known (2013) and Tabloid (2010).
