The AI CLI space has expanded quickly. Claude Code from Anthropic brings conversational coding assistance to the terminal, Codex CLI handles code generation and agentic tasks from the command line. OpenCode runs entirely from the command line and works with any LLM provider you already have access to. The opencode cli approach keeps things lightweight — no IDE plugins, no browser tabs, just your terminal. If you haven't tried a kimi cli tool yet, the Kimi Code CLI is a solid starting point. It installs through npm, picks up your project structure automatically, and stays out of the way until you ask it something. The learning curve is about ten minutes.
