A stylized image of three buffaloWAVES OF BUFFALO is a transdisciplinary work by Tasha Hubbard and Jason Ryle. In the process of developing their feature film, SINGING BACK THE BUFFALO, Hubbard and Ryle became inspired to create a land-based, site-specific installation that would seek to recreate the experience of bearing witness to a Great Herd of Buffalo passing by.

For WAVES OF BUFFALO, we envision a transdisciplinary work that incorporates XR (AR, VR, MR), video, projection mapping, and sound installation to create a durational-real time installation that plays out over three days, the length of time it could take a Great Herd to migrate through a single location. This work could be based on the land and in an urban environment.
