Libraries as Immersive Storytelling Hubs – A civic research initiative by the MIT Open Documentary Lab

As longstanding centers for knowledge exchange, public access to resources, and civic engagement, libraries offer a unique infrastructure for expanding access to new story forms and new ways of knowing. We believe they are uniquely positioned to offer immersive storytelling skills and experiences beyond film festival premieres and commercial settings.

To test this idea, in addition to the VR collection, we are curating artist talks and offering skills workshops to further people’s understanding of the possibilities and challenges of immersive storytelling.

Follow us on social media to know more about upcoming events.

This initiative is funded by Agog: The Immersive Media Institute.
