The AI CLI space has expanded quickly. Claude Code from Anthropic brings conversational coding assistance to the terminal, while Codex CLI from OpenAI handles code generation and agentic tasks from the command line. OpenClaw takes a different angle as a personal AI assistant with a skill and gateway system, and Gemini CLI rounds out the major options for developers who want Google's models locally.
